Victoria Park & Springtime

A couple of weeks ago I went for a walk in Victoria Park after I did some business downtown, where I had to walk to the terminal from so I could catch a bus back home due to the construction crew that had shut down that part of King Street East. Having walked that far I decided to get some photos of the signs of spring were trying to show their existence. Everything from daffodils, hyacinths, crown imperials, magnolias, to tulips and sunshine to bring out the beauty of the colours.

The first two photos are here at home as I made my way to the bus stop.

As I was walking down Charles Street I happened to see the daffodils at the corner of Charles and Gaukel were in full bloom so I stepped off the main walkway and captured some shots of the flowers by the fountain that is on the corner by the terminal.

This is a view of the fountain and the bus terminal in the background, as well as some of the tall apartment buildings nearby.

This is another view of the daffodils.

Tulips in the terminal flower bed.

The entrance to Victoria Park.

 Daffodils galore.

A white magnolia tree in full bloom.

The purple magnolia starting to bud.

And hyacinths.

A view into the park

I think somebody left their suitcases behind. lol

Closeups of the magnolias.

At a distance.

The pond is empty.

And someone forgot their steamer trunk too.

A different view of the pond.

When I saw these I thought they were japanese lanterns, but when I got home I discovered they were crown imperials.

The monument of Queen Victoria in the park, near the lake.

Tulip bed.

Close ups of the tulips in the tulip bed.

Down by the river there is more beauty and also reflections in the water.

A zoomed shot of the daffodils on the centre island.

On my way back to the terminal I heard a cardinal and spotted him high up in a tree.

A few more shots and then off to the terminal to head home.

And finally I got onto the property here to see what spring has to offer here.

Then only a short piece from here is home and I can relax until I have to go out tomorrow again.
